Alexis Bomer is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor from Greensburg PA, where she has trained in ballet/pointe, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, musical theatre, modern, acrobatics, and heels. Alexis grew up in the competition circuit and graduated from Impact Dance Center and Millennium Dance Complex’s company program, where she learned from a highly qualified and diverse staff.
Alexis started working professionally at age 15 with Mid-Atlantic Contemporary Ballet Company as a dancer and choreographer under the direction of Gerard Holt, with whom she performed in several events and showcases including: Sr. Thea Bowman 25th anniversary dinner at Heinz Field, the Andy Warhol Museum’s “Sound Series,” QM Productions’ “Dance and Duos,” and The Father Ryan Arts Centers’ “Urban Christmas Carol,” and annual showcases. With Millennium Dance Complex Alexis was a part of the team that placed third at World of Dance Chicago semi-finals and later competed in its LA finals, and choreographed/performed for the Harlem Globetrotters’ halftime show as well as their annual showcases. Her choreography has also been seen in Texture Ballet Company’s “WIP” showcase, many dance schools’ competitions and showcases in Pittsburgh, and won Intrigue Dance Intensive’s Young Choreographers competition in 2016. Alexis has been a part of fireWALL Dance Theater since 2016, dancing in their last four full-length productions. Her guest performances include Texture Ballet Company’s “Dance Shorts,” The Carnegie Museum’s “Third Thursday,” Millennium Dance Complex’s “Ascendance,” and a music video for Mason Ashley’s “Strangers.”
Since Alexis was a child, she knew she not only wanted to dance and choreograph but teach as well, so she assisted her teacher throughout high school to learn, and later started teaching the younger kids herself her senior year. Since then she has expanded her knowledge and experience to teaching most dance styles; she is trained in all levels and ages available all around Pittsburgh. Alexis hopes she can push her students to their own highest potential, while having fun and appreciating the art of dance that she loves so much. She cannot wait to see all of the new students that come to take class at fireWALL Dance Theater and get moving!
